Making the third sector, a first thought.
What we do
Well Placed is a collaborative group, that brings together strategic leaders from Liverpool’s third sector health, wellbeing and care providers.
We’re here to transform our shared experiences of public sector partnership, with the aim of creating bigger change and better outcomes for the people we support. To achieve this, we’re investing time and energy in raising the profile of our sector’s work, breaking down misconceptions around what we can and can’t do, and building a simple route into the sector for commissioners and other partners.
Our sector’s greatest value lies in early-stage involvement—before commissioning plans are set and before tenders are issued. We want to co-create local sector strategy from the outset, demonstrating the vital role we can play in shaping solutions. By engaging earlier, we can work alongside our NHS and Local Authority partners to highlight the insights and solutions the third sector offers for the system-wide challenges we all face.
By shifting away from transactional relationships with our public sector commissioners and building recognition for what the third sector has to offer, we believe we can drive real transformation on a local level.

Our objectives
We’ll showcase the city's health, wellbeing, and care sector, demonstrating to public sector partners the value that comes from strategically involving the third sector.

We’ll break down misconceptions about the third sector—its capabilities and contributions to the people of Liverpool—while reinforcing confidence in its governance and professionalism.

We’ll offer a single route into our sector for partners addressing health, wellbeing, and social care challenges.

We’ll build a place for third-sector health, wellbeing, and care providers to exchange information, ideas, and connections to benefit the entire city.

We’ll provide a direct route into the lives of local people; turning up the volume on their voices and helping unblock challenges in local communities faced by the public sector.
Who we are
Previously known as the Health and Wellbeing Organisations Network (H&WON) the group remains facilitated by LCVS. Although we only have a limited membership, our work represents all third sector partners across the city, and we work hard to represent their work as well as their challenges. Our current membership includes.
